Forestry Certification Planning and Administration

Wood buyers and consumers today are increasingly seeking forest products that are independently certified to have come from responsibly managed and harvested forests. In some cases, they are also willing to pay a premium for these products.

Finch foresters have extensive experience in achieving the two most highly regarded certifications — that of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) program.

We can assist landowners wishing to achieve third-party certification by supervising the application and audit processes.

FSC also offers a group certification for qualifying landowners whose forests are managed under a long-term agreement with an FSC-certified forest manager such as Finch Forest Management. This program allows qualifying landowners to join together and share certification costs.
